Agastachys
odorata (White Waratah) is the only species of this genus, and
is native only in western and southern Tasmania. It is an erect shrub
with entire, glabrous, fairly succulent leaves, and erect spikes of
flowers in the upper leaf axils. It grows on very nutrient poor soils in
button grass sedgeland, scrubby vegetation and some kinds of rainforest.
