Tasmania has
two species of Rhytidosporum, R. procumbens (Mary's
flower, described as Marianthus procumbens in the Students
Flora) and R. inconspicuum (described as Billardiera
longiflora var. alpinum in the Students Flora). The
former is a small subshrub that is widespread and common in dry
areas, but is often inconspicuous. The latter is an uncommon,
prostrate and spreading subalpine plant.
