Plantago
antarctica is a medium-sized, flat, native rosette herb
with a taproot. It grows in grassy places in the eastern mountains. The leaves are
hairy, typically 3-12 cm long, with a short, broad stalk and 3-5 obvious
longitudinal veins. The often have a few teeth. It is one of a group
of similar species, including the very common weed species, P.
varia and three lowland native species. |
