Tasmania has
three introduced species of Alopecurus (Foxtails). The inflorescence is a soft, dense spike-like panicle. The spikelets have
a single flower, the glumes are similar in size and are fused
together at the base. The lemma has an awn attached near the base of
the lemma. A. pratensis (Meadow
Foxtails) is a common agricultural weed. |
