Lagurus
ovatus (Hare's Tail) is a moderately common weed mainly of
sandy coastal areas. The inflorescence is a dense, soft textured, spike-like
panicle. The spikelets have a single flower, the glumes are large
(~10mm long), softly hairy, with a slender bristle at the end. The
lemmas also have two bristles and a slender, twisted and bent awn
about 10-15mm long. |
