Ryecorn (Secale cereale) is an introduced cereal species somewhat resembling wheat (Triticum). It is a large grass (up to 1.75m tall), with spikelets arranged in a dense, two rowed spike. The spikelets are three flowered, with two hermaphrodite flower and one lacking either stamens or ovary. The flowers have quite a long awn.
