Wheat (Triticum aestivum) occurs occasionally as a weed near cultivated wheat. It is
a large glaucous grass with leaves up to 35cm long and 5-15mm wide.
It has moderately large spikelets (up to about 15mm long) arranged
in two rows to form a dense spike. The flowers may have long awns,
short awns or none at all - making for conspicuous differences in
appearance. |
