Rosa canina (Rosaceae) 1:177

Rosa canina (Briar) is a reasonably common introduced woody weed. It is spiny, and easily distinguished from Blackberry and other brambles by habit - it lacks the long spindly stems of brambles. It is more similar to the more common Briar (R. rubiginosa), but the leaves are not covered with hairs on the lower surface.
