This
diverse family includes a range of native and introduced shrubs and
herbs in Tasmania. The leaves are often compound or lobed, and the
stems of many of the shrubby species have prickles or spines. The
only native shrub species, Rubus parvifolius (Native Raspberry
), is easily confused with the common weed, blackberry (R. fruticosus),
but has smaller leaves. Several herbaceous species are common weeds,
e.g Sanguisorba minor (=Poterium polygamum).
