Hebe (Scrophulariaceae) not in the Students Flora

Hebe is a genus of trees and shrubs that is especially diverse in New Zealand. One New Zealand species (H. elliptica) has become naturalised in Tasmania. It is an erect, much branched shrub with quite thick, elliptical leaves a couple of cm long. This species seems to have an inordinate fondness for lighthouses. It is only known from a few islands with lighthouses (including Maatsuyker Island off the south coast of Tasmania).
