M. moschatus

Tasmania has one native and one introduced species of Monkey Flower (Mimulus). M. repens is a common native saltmarsh species. It is a creeping herb with small (2-10mm long), rounded, opposite leaves and bluish purple flowers with yellow throats. M. moschatus is an introduced erect herb that is covered in glandular hairs, and with opposite leaves about 1-4cm long and yellow flowers.
