Sticherus (Gleicheniaceae) |
|
|
Tasmania has
three native species of Sticherus (coral ferns). These are
terrestrial plants that grow in wet forest. They are all moderately
robust ferns with unique form shared with
Gleichenia - the fronds split into
two (in most species more than once), then end in very regular
bipinnate branches with small pinnules. They differ from
Gleichenia in that the pinnules are flat and elongated. |
