Asplenium obtusatum (Aspleniaceae) |
|
Asplenium
obtusatum (short spleenwort) is a common native fern that
grows in rocky crevices exposed to salt spray on exposed coastlines
(and occasionally in rocky areas further inland). The thick, glossy,
leathery, pinnate leaves makes this fern very distinctive. The sori are
elongated, placed on the underside of the lamina and are protected
by a flap of the lamina (an indusium). |
