Blechnum cartilagineum (Blechnaceae) |
|
Blechnum
cartilagineum (gristle fern) is rare native ground fern
only known in Tasmania from a few creeks in western and northern. It is a moderately
large ground fern. The fronds are often quite hard. The distinctive
feature is that unlike all the other Blechnum species in
Tasmania, the fertile fronds look similar to the leaves. |
