Sticherus tener (Gleicheniaceae) |
|
Sticherus
tener (silky fan fern) is a common native groundfern that grows
along watercourses in and near rainforest throughout Tasmania. It has the typical
Sticherus foliage, which is repeatedly dichotomously divided
before ending in pinnate laminas, ending elongated pinnules with
superficial sori. The distinctive feature is that the undersides of
the pinnules are hairy and the pinnules arise almost at right angles
from the midrib. |
