Tasmania has
four native species of Wurmbea (early nancy). These are
moderately common native species that grow in heaths, grassland and
dry open forest. The plants have two or three narrow leaves growing
from the erect stem. The flowers are white (mostly with a purple
band across each petal or sepal), relatively large and conspicuous
(about 2cm wide) and in a terminal raceme. The plant has a corm. |
