Tasmania has
one species of Caleania
(C. major; duck orchid). This species has extraordinary
flowers that are sometimes compared to ducks in appearance. The
stems are erect, but have a single narrow leaf that arises at ground
level and either lies flat on the ground or slightly raised above. The labellum is large and
held erect at the top of the flower.
Paracaleana minor was previously considered as a species of
Caleana. |
