Glossodia (Orchidaceae) 4a:90
Glossodia major (Wax-Lip Orchid) is a widespread and common, ground orchid that flowers in spring. It has a single leaf a few cm long, and up to 2cm wide, and a wiry, unbranched flowering stalk that bears one or two flowers. The flowers are quite large (3-5cm across), purple, with five petals/sepals that are almost of the same size, and arranged almost symmetrically.
