Calorophus (Restionaceae) 4b:40 |
|
|
|
Tasmania has
two species of Calorophus. Both are reasonably common native
herbs in damp soils. They are more-or-less typical members of
Restionaceae, with cylindrical stems with several dry scale-leaves,
and terminal inflorescences of multiple spikelets. Both species have
sinuous, shiny green stems that form tangled masses in vegetation.
They are closely related to Empodisma, but lack the woolly
hairs associated with the scale-leaves. |
