Distinguishing features: Alpine rosette herb, common. Hairless spathulate leaves with a few lobes at the ends. Leaves are slightly curved up sideways. The flowers have no pappus. Similar to B. tenuiscapa (which is hairy), Erigeron gunnii var gunnii and E. pappachromus (which have flowers and achences with an obvious pappus).
