2022 Department of Education Tasmania
UTAS Graduate Teacher Recruitment Initiative
Where will your teaching career begin? There are opportunities in schools state-wide from Kinder to Grade 12 in a range of specialisations starting from Term 1, 2023.
The Department of Education, Tasmania (DoE) are partnering with the University of Tasmania (UTAS) to pilot a specific program for UTAS Education students graduating in 2022, with a focus on streamlining employment into the public teaching system.
This is an exciting opportunity where only graduates from the Education faculty within University of Tasmania are eligible to express interest.
To be eligible to express interest, applicants must:
- be graduating from a Bachelor or Masters Degree from the Education Faculty of UTAS
- be able to gain provisional registration to teach from Term 1, 2023 granted by the Teachers Registration Board of Tasmania.
The first step is to complete the Expression of Interest Form with your personal details, and work preferences.
Access the link here. The form will take less than 5 minutes to complete. Please have your CV and two Referee contacts ready. Apply by 21st August 2022.
We’ll be in contact around the assessment stage for all students that express interest. This will be flexible taking into consideration your graduation date, and final GTPA assessment. The assessment will focus on your fit for DoE, and compliment your GTPA Assessment outcome.
You will see DoE advertising across various employment platforms, newspapers and social media throughout July for Teachers to work from Term 1, 2023. We are seeking Teachers from a broad range of experiences and contexts.
As a 2022 UTAS Graduate you do not need to apply through www.jobs.tas.gov.au if you express interest through this pilot initiative.
Join the DoE community and make a difference to every student every day.
