Held on the 7th Mar 2019 to
7th Apr 2019
Tasmanian Aboriginal artist Lola Greeno creates a series of five ceremonial length shell necklaces to represent the five North West Tasmanian beaches where she collects her beloved mariner shells. At each collection site a coastal plant was harvested to create a suite of five new, handmade papers. These special, single-origin papers form the backdrop of Greeno's exhibition, whilst providing the viewer with additional connections to the sites where the shells are gathered.
UTAS Arts and Public Programs Coordinator; Joanna Gair, worked with Lola to curate this exhibition and make the bespoke papers.
Exhibition Opening: Thursday 7 March, 5.00pm. RSVPs essential to Joanna.Gair@utas.edu.au.
