Join us for this public forum to hear Dr. Gabby Walters, who is a world-renowned expert and author in tourism crisis recovery, share her experiences on tourism industry recovery following events such as fire. Gabby will discuss recovery trajectories, tourists’ responses, industry responses and strategies that have assisted tourism regions and businesses to recover following crisis events.
Dr Gabby Walters is a Senior Lecturer at Griffith University. Her primary research interests revolve around tourism marketing communications, tourist behaviour and tourism crisis recovery.
The evening will be chaired by Associate Professor Anne Hardy, a senior lecturer in tourism at the University of Tasmania and Director of the Tourism Research and Education Network (TRENd).
This forum will be of interest to business operators, industry employees, local council and tourism organisations who have been affected by fire, or who are interested in future proofing their region from crisis events.
