This workshop, the first in a series of four, is for anyone thinking of participating in UHack 2021 or wanting to learn more about entrepreneurship. Facilitated by Associate Professor Stuart Crispin, Executive Dean, College of Business and Economics at the University of Tasmania, you will be provided with an overview on design thinking and the Business Model Canvas - the tool used by most successful startups when developing and testing their ideas. This model will also be used during UHack.
About the Facilitator
Associate Professor Stuart Crispin is the Executive Dean, College of Business and Economics at the University of Tasmania. Stuart started teaching in marketing and strategy at UTAS in 2004, and in 2010 completed his PhD at the same institution. His PhD explored strategic marketing issues in the tourism and hospitality industries, specifically exploring the marketing resources of firms, and the use of network relationships to support the sustainability of these firms. Since the start of 2012, Stuart has been working with colleagues from across UTAS on a multi-disciplinary study of value chains in the agri-foods sector.
