Art has been produced by humans for many thousands of years. Some humans enjoy art now and then, while other humans dedicate their lives to art (sometimes to the exclusion of all else). But what is the purpose (or purposes) of art? Come along to the first Launceston Philosophy in the Pub of 2021 and discuss this fascinating question!

Philosophy in the Pub is a regular opportunity for members of the community to meet and discuss, in some depth, a philosophical topic of their own choosing. The discussion is hosted by philosophers from University of Tasmania as part of the University’s ongoing engagement with the broader community.
