Amy Williams

From growing up at Uluru in the Northern Territory to teaching English as an Additional Language to students in Prague, Amy recognises the significance and impact education has on a person.

With a strong passion for using a strengths based approach to life and study, Amy teaches into the University of Tasmania pathway programs.  These programs offer the opportunity for students to develop self-confidence and academic skills through a range of specifically designed units to enter further study.

Mike Harris

As a mature age student, Mike came back to education in the hope of finding a better career.  His aspirations were tamed during his early life in the Blue Mountains (NSW) and after spending several years away, he came to a point where more education (and training) seemed the only way forward.

Mike later trained as a social worker and then pursued university with the aim of becoming a teacher. He has spent the last two decades teaching across a spectrum of educational settings, most in semirural areas.  He believes in the power of education, particularly in remote areas, to increase and enhance life choices of any individual.
