In 2022, join us on the first Friday of the month for the ‘Salon @ 6’, an experimental and eclectic program of concerts performed by students, staff and alumni of the School of Creative Arts and Media. Featuring a wide range of styles and genres, this concert series is a fantastic opportunity to experience bold new work and meet our vibrant creative community.

  • Tickets are FREE but registrations essential as seating is limited.
  • From 15th January 2022, anyone coming to our campuses, facilities and events is required to be fully vaccinated or have an exemption. Masks must be worn in indoor public settings, including all university venues, from 12:01am, Tuesday 21 December 2021.
  • You will be greeted by our Front of House staff on arrival and asked to use the temperature scanning system to check in.

Friday 4 March 2022 To celebrate the start of Semester One and International Women’s Day 2022, ‘….strange thunders from the potency of song…’ includes instrumental music by Mél(anie) Bonis and Elisabeth Lutyens (performed by Gianni Posadas-Sen and Arabella Teniswood-Harvey), recorded sound work by Jacky Collyer, video work by Tasha Zappala, and a performance by Davina Wright. View concert program

Friday 1 April 2022 The Damien Kingston Quartet are a Hobart based modern jazz quartet comprised of Damien Kingston on guitar, Matt Boden on piano, Hamish Houston on bass, and Tom Robb on drums. The ensemble’s output is devoted to the performance and interpretation of compositions written by Kingston, investigating the nexus between jazz, classical composition, contemporary music, and free improvisation. Friday 5 August 2022 Music and Place, and Music and Politics students come together in this project based concert to showcase their creative work from semester one. Expect a range of exciting and varied outputs of audio, video, live performances, as well as displayed written work. View concert program
