Explore the range of wellbeing and safety supports

Starting a new year at university can be overwhelming and nerve wrecking sometimes. But our Wellbeing team are here to help!

Knowing the supports you have available for your emotional wellbeing is essential for protecting your mental health this year. Join us for this online panel discussion as we introduce your wellbeing, counselling, and safety support and answer any questions you may have.

Our speakers will be Julie Homer (head of Counselling), Joshua Mets (head of Safe and Fair Community Unit), and Jess McCallum (Student Mental Health and Wellbeing Projects Coordinator).

This 45min session will cover:

  • What are the Uni Counselling and Safety Services and how they can help students.
  • What kinds of reasons or problems a student might book in to Counselling or Safety with.
  • What to do if you’re really nervous about booking a session.
  • What to expect when you book in for your first appointment with Counselling or Safety.
  • What other wellbeing programs and resources students can access while at uni.
