Tiffany Eckhardt

Award winning songwriter Tiffany Eckhardt has written and recorded 11 independent releases and has been adopted by the Australian festival circuit as a firm favourite. Her folk/roots music is inspired by nature and the human spirit and has received rave reviews and airplay across the country. Now based in Tasmania, Tiffany is a graduate of the music degree at the University of Tasmania. She is currently studying a Masters of Music Therapy at Melbourne University. She also facilitates community music projects and directs The Little Boat Choir, Franklin.

In March 2022, Tiffany Eckhardt recorded her most recent release. Starry Stuff was recorded live over 2 days by Jed Pickett at the Rolling on the River Studio in the Huon Valley, Tasmania. The band consists of some of the finest Tasmanian musicians, including Dave Steel (guitars), Ross Smithard (violin, mandolin), Louis Gill (bass), Jeremy Marcotte (drums) and Matt Boden (piano).

The songs pick up on themes of motherhood, change and stargazing, she describes it as "...an album about life changes and how to cope with them." With a sound inspired by albums such as Neil Young's Comes a Time and Emmylou Harris’s Wrecking Ball, the 11 heart-melting gems reflect influences of folk, jazz and blues.

Dave Steel

Dave Steel is a singer/songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and producer with an extensive history in the roots music scene in Australia. He was a founding member of Weddings Parties Anything and contributed songs and instrumental skills to their first two albums.

He has made nine solo albums, received several ARIA nominations and has worked as a sideman and session musician with many of Australia’s finest performers, including Archie Roach, for whom he worked for seven years as an instrumentalist, Rose Bygrave and Marcia Howard, amongst many others.

Dave has extensive studio experience as an artist, a session instrumentalist, and as a producer/engineer. He has toured extensively in Australia, North America, Europe and Asia.

For the past twenty years he has been instrumentalist and co-producer for partner Tiffany Eckhardt, and continues to work with Tiffany, and as a solo act, on the festival circuit and in the folk /roots scene, as well as recording and mixing for various Tasmanian artists, and sharing his insights and experience with song writing students at the Hedberg, where he works as a tutor in the song writing stream of the UTAS music degree.
