New Zealand’s High Commissioner to Australia, the Honorary Dame Annette King visited the University of Tasmania in November 2019.
Her Excellency was accompanied by her husband, Mr Raymond Lind and Mr Sam Cox, First Secretary New Zealand High Commission. They were welcomed by Professor Rufus Black, Vice-Chancellor and Mr Rob Wilson, Deputy Vice-Chancellor Global (Acting).
Tasmania and New Zealand share a common place-based story which includes, the geography of being small islands in the south with clean credentials, access to Antarctica; a strong reliance on agriculture and tourism and a small (and aging) population.
This was Her Excellency’s first official visit to the University of Tasmania.
