Diploma of Applied Science in Aquaculture (DipAppScAq)

Course code: S2A
This 3-year full-time course is offered by the Faculty of Science and Technology and is available at Launceston. Subject to attendance and timetable requirements, part-time enrolment may be possible.

Admission requirements & prerequisites
University admission. There are no specific TCE subject prerequisites.

Course objectives
The Diploma course aims to produce graduates who will fill positions in aquacultural industries where progression through to senior technical roles and managerial responsibilities is anticipated. It builds on the educational foundations provided in the Associate Diploma of Applied Science in Aquaculture and adds a greater understanding of scientific aspects, including physiology, nutrition, diseases and environmental chemistry as well as business planning.

The course includes 12 weeks of work experience in industry.

Course structure
A 3-year (6-semester) course which consists of core and elective units.

Articulation with other courses
Credit for appropriate studies completed in TAFE and other university courses may be granted by the Faculty.
