Bachelor of Applied Science: Schedule 1

Course structure
The framework of the general applied science course follows. It is based on the semester-unit, which normally involves three hours of lectures and three hours of laboratory work for 14 weeks. The course requires the completion of 24 such units and the compulsory core unit Science, Industry and Society.

The normal degree structure for a full-time student contains two major fields of study, one minor, the core unit Science, Industry and Society, and four electives as shown below.

However, the structure of the Professional Chemistry and Professional Aquaculture specialisations are atypical and include an expanded major and normally two minors.

An alternative structure incorporating one major, two submajors and four electives is available to accommodate some career paths.
