LCS steps out for fundraiser

Staff and students from the University’s Launceston Clinical School took fundraising in their stride this year.

More than 30 staff and students from the school participated in a socially distanced outdoor 5km run on Sunday, 13 September to raise funds for Cancer Council Tasmania.

Their efforts raised $3099 with Callum Shea taking out line honours, followed closely by Niamh Crocker.

“We’ve always been very supportive, helping to raise money and awareness of the work the Cancer Council do,” Michelle Horder, from the Launceston Clinical School, said.

“The Launceston Clinical School have been involved with the Cancer Centre in Launceston for a number of years, where our students are provided with important insights into the lives of those living with cancer.

“We wanted to be able to continue to support and give back to the Centre and the Launceston community.”
