This Skills Course is a comprehensive 2 day course comprising didactic lectures and hands on practical skill sessions. The focus is on common neurosurgical pathologies and basic procedural skills.
There will also be an Applied Surgical Anatomy - Brain & Spinal Cord Regions Course on Friday 1st September, 2023 at UTAS School of Medicine.
Workshop Content
The Basic Neurosurgical skills competency will be done over 2 days with one day of didactic lectures and the second day dedicated to hands on session which include:
- Patient position
- Neuro Navigation
- Microscope setup
- Neuro Dissection
- Basic procedures eg: Burr holes, EVD, Catheters

Cost
$1300 (GST Inclusive) includes all refreshments and manual.

Cancellation Policy
- Cancellations advised in writing 21 days prior to the Short Course / Workshop will be refunded in full.
- Cancellation due to illness, supported by a medical certificate, will be refunded in full.
- Cancellations received between 14 and 20 days prior to the commencement of the course will receive a 50% refund.
- A refund will not be granted to any registrant that cancels up to 13 days prior to the commencement of the course, or fails to attend.
- Full payment is required upon course registration.
- The Tasmanian School of Medicine reserves the right to reschedule planned short courses. In the unlikely event of a cancellation, all paid short course fees will be refunded.
