Media Law students ended the semester this week with an exclusive Q&A Zoom Chat.

UTAS Law School’s Media Law (LAW652) students ended the semester this week with an exclusive Q&A Zoom Chat with two of the world’s top media sector legal professionals.

His professional accolades include recognition by the World Intellectual Property Review as one of the “leading IP practitioners in the world” and his inclusion in the “Best Lawyers in America” list. Prior to joining Seed IP, Russ was Global Head of Trademarks at Microsoft, and prior to that, Senior Trademark Counsel at Intel. Russ spoke to the LAW652 students and fielded questions on the challenges faced by his clients today, pre-COVID-19, and previously in his experience as in-house counsel.

Jeffrey J Neuman is the Senior Vice President of leading internet domain name consultancy Com Laude USA. Among Jeff’s many career achievements are his contributions to the development of the Uniform Domain Name Dispute Resolution Procedure (UDRP) and the launch of .biz, .us and .nyc while working at domain name industry giant Neustar. Jeff currently co-chairs the ICANN policy development process responsible for introduction of new generic internet Top-Level Domains into the Domain Name System. Jeff spoke to the LAW652 students and fielded questions on life outside of his day job as an investor in and producer of musical theatre. His recent shows 'Be More Chill' and 'On Your Feet' opened to acclaim in London's West End earlier this year and played New York in 2019. Both the London production and a new Chicago production of Be More Chill will return once the COVID-19 situation has subsided. Jeff offered his expertise and insight into the legal issues that the musical theatre industry faces today.
