User Progress

Statistics and information about student use of MyLO is available from within individual tools, as well as from Class Progress.

To track student progress from their scores for different tasks, Grades is an excellent tool. Find out how to set it up from the Setting Up a Gradebook Desktop Guide .

Content

How many students have looked at any Content

Average amount of time spent looking at Content generally

How many students have looked at a particular Content Topic

Average amount of time students have spent looking at that particular Topic

How many times the student has visited a particular Topic

How much time, on average, they have spent looking at the Topic

When they last visited the Topic

Discussions

For each of the following, information is available across all Forums, for each individual Forum, and for each Topic:

  • Number of threads
  • Number of replies to threads
  • Number of Pinned and Unapproved posts
  • Post Ratings

For each of the following, information is available across all Forums, for each individual Forum, and for each Topic:

  • How many threads the student has written
  • How many replies the student has written
  • How many posts the student has read
  • How many unapproved posts the student has written
  • How many posts have been scored For each Forum and Topic
  • Post ratings - up, down, and starred

Quizzes

Information for each individual Quiz includes:

  • The average score for the class
  • The distribution of scores for the class
  • The percentage of students who correctly answered each question
  • The percentage of students who selected each particular answer for each question

The number of attempts the student took When each quiz attempt was submitted

How long the student took to complete each quiz attempt

The final score for the quiz attempt

The student’s response to each question The score given for each question

Individual Student Progress Summary

Grades

A summary of each graded item, including:

  • Item Name
  • Score
  • Grade Scheme Symbol*

For each graded item within MyLO:

  • Item Name
  • Feedback
  • Weighting towards overall grade
  • Score and Scheme Symbol
  • Date of last modification to the item
  • Class average and grade distribution*

Content

The percentage of Content Topics each student has visited

The number of Topics visited

The total number of possible Topics (this is useful when Modules and Topics have Re- lease Conditions)

Total number of visits to Content, Total time spent and number of Topics visited

Percentage and number of Topics visited in each Module

Number of visits, time spent and last visit for each Topic

Content must meet three criteria to be included in the user progress:

  • The learner must have access to the content
  • The content must be marked with a completion method of Required Automatic or Required Manual
  • The content is not exempt

When content does not meet these conditions, the topics are not included in the calculation of the student’s progress.

Discussions

The number of Discussion posts each student has read

The number of Threads they have started The number of replies they have posted

Total number of posts read, threads created and replies posted

Number of posts read, threads created and replies posted for each Forum and each Topic

Name of thread created or replied to

Assignment Folders

Average score received by the student Item name

Grade Scheme Symbol* Score*

Number and percentage of folders submitted to

Information marked with a * are dependant upon the settings you have chosen for these tools or Items.

Note that Progress Report Information settings are turned off by default at the UTAS level - however you should check these in your unit setting to ensure these are unticked if you do not want your student to see their actual score.
