Open Day is not just for school leavers, it’s for everyone. If you’ve been in the workforce for a few years and you’re thinking about a new career, this is your chance to explore the possibilities.

We’ll have course advisers on hand to discuss study options with you, and a whole range of informative and interactive sessions to attend.

And University study doesn’t always mean a full bachelor degree. There might be an associate degree that suits you, a postgraduate degree that will add to your existing skillset, or you might be interested in one of our many flexible online options.

Whatever you’re thinking about, we’ll have the friendly expertise on hand to give you the right advice.

1. Get help choosing a study area you’ll love

Head over to the Course Information Desk at Open Day and get some study ideas from our expert course advisers. It’s a good idea to think about what you want out of a career, then ask what to study to get to that point.

When: All day.

Where: Learning Hub, Morris Miller Library.

2. Learn about our graduates’ career paths

We have some amazing graduates! Come along to the Alumni Lounge at the Staff Club to find out about how these University alumni have advanced their careers and gain some inspiration for yours!

When: 11am, 1.30pm, 2.30pm.

Where: Staff Club, Dobson Road.

3. Talk to the University experts: our students!

Our Student Ambassadors are great people to ask about studying. As current University students, they can share their study experiences, discuss the course they’re studying, and also talk about what daily life is like as a student. Come to this casual Q and A and get all the info.

When: 10.30am.

Where: Stanley Burbury, Lecture Theatre 1, University Centre.

4. Investigate scholarships

If you decide you want to come and study at University, why not find out about scholarships at the same time? The University offers more than 900 scholarships and prizes every year! You might be surprised at what level of support you can get to help you focus on your studies. Come along to the Your Scholarship, Your Student Experience presentation and explore the possibilities.

When: All day.

Where: Learning Hub, Morris Miller Library.

5. Visit our University College

A University College associate degree is a great option for people who want to ease into University study, or who want to add to or formalise their existing work skills. These flexible programs can be completed largely online, making them a great option for busy people with jobs and families.
