From the big city of Abu Dhabi to the creative town of Launceston, making the right move to study in inspiring natural environments.

Sheethal parted with her home in Abu Dhabi to study the Bachelor of Architecture & Built Environments at the University of Tasmania, in Launceston. Growing up she was always surrounded by big buildings and spent a lot of time indoors. Her move to Tasmania has bought her closer to nature and given her a deeper appreciation for the natural environment.

Sheethal recently participated in a first year Architecture Project ‘Species Hotels’ where she worked with a group of students to restore natural habitats for wildlife at Ross, a biodiversity hotspot in Northern Tasmania.

Sheethal appreciates the open communication from her lecturers, giving her useful feedback on her work and providing her with support to ensure she is heading in the right direction with her assignments.

I would highly recommend the University of Tasmania to my friends, because here they warmly welcome international students, the lecturers and staff are very friendly and approachable. It portrays the perfect place to study

Sheethal has gained experience with numerous professional architecture software programs provided by the University including Building Information Modelling (BIM), Rhino 3D, ArchiCAD, Revit, Vectorworks.

“The software available to us has helped us, throughout the course, to understand how to see different models in different dimensions”, Sheethal said.

Sheethal anticipates to graduate in 2021 and said “Once I get my degree I would like to do the Master of Architecture at the University of Tasmania”.
