Associate Degree in Applied Business

Bachelor of Business

Our Bachelor of Business has a strong focus on practical real-world learning like internships, industry guest speakers, and live case studies. Access to all the same opportunities as those who attend classes face-to-face. You can choose from one of the following eight majors:

Marketing

Marketing is about finding creative solutions to communication problems. You'll learn how to identify a target audience, develop strategies to reach them, and communicate effectively to drive action, and how to measure results. This major is endorsed by the Australian Marketing Institute.

Finance

Careers in finance suit analytical, inquisitive thinkers who want to work closely with decision makers. Learn about financial planning and management, investment analysis, and corporate and international finance. This major is endorsed by the Australian Institute of Banking and Finance.

Human Resource Management

The most valuable asset in business is its people and as a human resource manager you ensure this asset is well cared for. You'll learn about organisational behaviour including how individual differences, perceptions, attitudes, and motivation impact work performance.

Management

Studying management provides a foundation for the problem-solving, critical thinking and data-based decision-making needed for successful modern businesses. Learn to meet the challenges of an ever-changing and complex world. This major is recognised by the Australian Institute of Management.

Accounting

Accounting degrees are not just for people who want to become accountants. People with accounting skills are in high demand across the widest range of sectors in the ever changing business and corporate world. This major is recognised by several professional bodies including CPA Australia.

Business Economics

Economists use data to understand the big questions that face people, organisations, and the world. We have been teaching Economics for over 100 years and have produced some of Australia’s leading experts in the field.

Hospitality Management

You’ll gain industry-specific skills in Hospitality Management, so you are ready to enter the contemporary business workforce in a managerial position within private, public or community sector enterprises. This major is designed for holders of a TasTAFE Advanced Diploma of Hospitality Management or equivalent qualification with the opportunity to gain a professional university degree in hospitality management.

Tourism Management

Develop your depth of understanding best practice in tourism management, recognise the value of research, critical thinking and effective communication to set you up for working in the tourism sector. This major is designed for holders of a TasTAFE Advanced Diploma of Tourism Management or equivalent qualification with the opportunity to gain a professional university degree in tourism management.

Bachelor of Economics

Through economics, you can follow your passion and shape the world. Get the knowledge and skills to create an exciting career in economics. Our Bachelor of Economics offers you a pathway to specialise in either Industry, Policy and Business Strategy or Society and Environment. Both teaching you how to understand the world around you to support industry and government with policy and practice. You’ll also be able to cross-skill by studying a range of electives from other areas of the University.
