Pathways
Our students come from a variety of places and life situations. Starting or resuming study is always exciting, but can also be daunting for students.
At the University of Tasmania we’ll help you gain the skills you need to pursue a university degree. We offer a range of support programs and pathways, as well as short foundation programs, to assist in the transition to university study.
University Preparation Program
Designed to support students to develop the academic skills and confidence to undertake university study successfully. If you don’t meet the entry requirements for your chosen course, the UPP can provide you with an alternative entry pathway into university.
Diploma of University Studies
By completing this course, student may have guaranteed entry into a specified bachelor degree (dependent on specialisation). Students will also meet the University’s General Entry Requirements, so may have options to enter other bachelor degrees. Specialisations are offered in: Arts, Business, Education, Engineering, Health, Health Science, ICT and Science.
Diplomas
Our range of Diplomas are a 1-year (full-time) qualification that provide you with an alternative pathway into a bachelor program or a short, sharp qualification that aligns with your career and life goals.
A diploma will equip you with sound practical skills and confidence to start or continue your career, or enter into your chosen bachelor degree.
Diploma of Dementia Care
With a specific focus on dementia, this course is available to careers, health professionals and anyone with an interest in learning more about dementia. Completion of this course may lead to further study in an associate or bachelor degree.
