Dr Laud is a Senior Lecturer in Services Marketing at the University of Tasmania, College of Business and Economics. Her research contributes to areas of transformative service research, service management and technology, value co-creation processes in service ecosystems and consumer and community well-being. With specialised expertise in services and social marketing areas, Dr Laud has successfully led multiple high-impact research projects exploring the impact of technology (e.g., artificial intelligence, Big Data); co-designing service processes for consumer and collective well-being (e.g., service system well-being scale to measure collective well-being); and alleviating vulnerability among differently-abled service users (e.g., identifying interventions to reduce service exclusion). Gauri actively collaborates with local and international industry and community partners to ensure her research outcomes reach end-users effectively. Gauri’s past and present research projects are characterised by high theoretical rigour and managerial relevance and have received international accolades for their quality and impact. Dr Laud adopts quantitative and qualitative research methods such as structural equation modelling, social network analysis, grounded theory approach etc.

Dr Laud’s research interest in customer creativity and collaborative processes within service exchange informs her teaching philosophy. With COBE, Dr Laud teaches services marketing and new product and service innovation at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. She focuses on formulating learning avenues for students to build creative confidence in her teaching. In her units, she encourages students to collaborate with peers and participate in the co-creation of knowledge, resulting in meaningful learning outcomes and skill development. COBE and the University have recognised her teaching excellence through the teaching awards over the years. In 2019, she won the Teaching Merit Certificate for her innovative approach of a flipped classroom for large class settings and, in 2020, Citation for Outstanding Contributions to Student Learning for my innovative curriculum designs across undergraduate (UG) and postgraduate (PG) units.
