Field Detection of Perfluorinated Contaminants: Instrumentation
Perfluoroalkyl and Polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) or Perfluorinated chemicals (PFCs) are emerging contaminant group which have been used in several commercial, industrial applications and aqueous firefighting foams (AFFF) since 1950. These contaminants are persistent, bio accumulative and toxic to living beings. The aim of the project is to develop a deployable or portable analyser which can enable the “triage” of contaminated sites and remedial solutions to work collaboratively to evaluate the efficacy in real time.
