Thesis Topic: The use of machine learning algorithms for geological mapping and minerals targeting for major ore deposit styles and settings

About Me:

I graduated with honours in Geophysics from UTAS in 2008. My final year involved acquiring and modelling of potential field data, and classification 3D modelling using a fuzzy logic approach. I completed an Internship with Gold Fields at the St Ives Gold Mine/s in summer 2007, joining them as a graduate geophysicist and moving to Kalgoorlie in late 2008. Due to a limited geophysical budget, I had the pleasure of logging over 25,000m of DD and RC, amongst geophysical duties. In late 2009, I transferred to the company's international exploration group, as a project geophysicist, where I remained until late 2013. During this time I worked in many of the world's premier gold producing regions, including the Andes, Tien Shan, Ashanti Belt, British Columbia, the Far South East/Mankayan/Baguio district of the Philippines and throughout Australia. In 2014 I returned to UTAS/CODES. I am currently researching the implementation of an effective combination of machine learning algorithm, optimising their use in a variety of geological/Ore deposit settings and extending upon recent research at CODES. My broader interests are a mix of sports/outdoors, strength/exercise physiology and martial arts, along with anything science and technology (Excluding all things Apple…)
