Achievements

Mrs Suzie Wright completed a Bachelor of Arts with a double major in History and Psychology at the University of Melbourne in 1997. After working as a research assistant in the University of Melbourne, Department of Ophthalmology, Suzie completed a Bachelor of Teaching (Primary) Honours degree at the University of Melbourne in 2002, afterwards working as a primary school teacher in a small independent school in rural Warwickshire (UK).  Suzie came to the University of Tasmania, Faculty of Education in 2007 where she worked as a research assistant on the ARC Linkage Project 'Mathematics in Australian Reform-Based Learning Environments' (MARBLE), assisting in a number of professional development sessions for teachers, the analysis of survey data from school students and teachers, and the publication of several papers. On completion of the MARBLE project in late 2010, Suzie continued to work as a research assistant on a number of research projects within the Faculty, including the IRGS funded project 'Contested relevance: How university supervisors and teachers in schools view the correlation between university work and the school practicum'. In 2010, in conjunction with her role as a research assistant, Suzie began tutoring in the Master of Teaching and Bachelor of Education programs at the University of Tasmania and was awarded a Teaching Merit Certificate in May 2011.  In mid-2011, Suzie commenced work as a research assistant and later as project manager on the ARC Linkage Project 'Student retention beyond the compulsory years in rural, regional and disadvantaged communities.' In mid-2015, while still managing the Retention project, Suzie commenced employment as a project manager on an ARC Discovery Project on 'Modelling with Data: Advancing STEM in the Primary Curriculum.'
