Before entering the university career, Lecturer Arto Gråstén worked for three years as an elementary school teacher in Nurmijärvi, Finland in 2002-2005. After completing the physical and health education teacher qualification in 2006, he was appointed as a health and physical education teacher for three years by the junior high school in Vantaa, Finland. Gråstén started his postgraduate studies in 2009 and worked as a doctoral student at the University of Jyväskylä in 2011-2012. After that he has worked in several research projects, e.g. Finnish Report Card 2014 on Physical Activity for Children and Youth, Physical Activity as a Civil Skill Program 2012-1014, and Move! –monitoring system for physical functional capacity, 2012.
