Associate Professor Annette Marlow is the Associate Dean, Professional Experience Placement within the College of Health and Medicine. This role focuses on the provision of quality professional experience placements from the perspective of students, staff and industry partners in health- related disciplines. Annette's particular interest centres around learning and teaching in health care settings, and in particular the provision of support, guidance and mentorship to those who undertake the role of supervising students in practice.

Biography

Annette first registered as a nurse in 1985 and since this time has been employed across the health and tertiary education sectors, primarily in Tasmania.  Working closely with partners in practice, Annette actively contributes as a member of various health organisations’ committees, focussing on care to consumers, clinical governance and best practice in healthcare.

The project is in two parts. Firstly the establishment of the nature of reablement this is a new concept in care, and one whichhas not yet been defined, followed by the conversion of these ideas into a teaching programme. Development of an online Work Integrated Learning (WIL) survey tool to measure, evaluate and enhance the quality of students WIL experiences (2015)$10,000

The WIL survey instrument will provide a practical method of assessing and reporting students perceptions of the quality of their WIL experience and provides a mechanism to evaluate how students take responsibility for their own learning while on placement.The key project outcome will be the establishment of an online portal and survey instrument that can be utilised both institutionally and cross institutionally for measuring WIL experiences.
