Lauri has extensive experience in the acute health care sector as a midwife, senior clinician, clinical governance and change management roles in South Australia and interstate.
Biography
Lauri trained as a Registered Nurse and Midwife and spent many years in Delivery Suite. She then moved across to Safety and quality and became very interested in Lean thinking and process improvement methodologies. She then spent 7 years at Flinders Medical Centre, Redesigning Care Unit developing those skills.
Lauri then joined Health Services Innovation Tasmania, as a Redesign Consultant, which was a commonwealth funded program to redesign the Acute Healthcare system across the state. This large body of work encompassed Medicine, Outpatients, Surgery, Mental Health, Emergency access and Patient Flow.
Lauri has subsequently worked in the Aged care system, Ambulance sector, Department of Education , Private Medical Consultants and Primary care either as a redesigner or a mentor.
She currently teaches in the Graduate certificate of Clinical Redesign
