Research Themes
Sunny's recent research aligns to the University's research theme of Creativity, Culture and Society. She conducted online research internationally in order to understand how and why young people participate in sharing their own created contents in social media. Her research was a response to the impact and social implications of new media in youth's everyday life. Her research findings showed that new media contents shared by young people demonstrated the context of social e-learning, youth creativity and productivity, elements of new media participatory culture, and reinforcement of youth's claimed affinity spaces. She is also researching on mature-aged students' online engagement. She is particularly interested in increasing students' new media engagement.
