Biography
After completing his PhD with the Queensland University of Technology (QUT) School of Physics on the feasibility of electromagnetic induction tomography in medical applications, Michael took up a postdoctoral position with the QUT School of Mechanical Engineering, using pre- and post-operative gait analysis to predict the success of hip and knee joint replacements. In 2000, Michael began a postdoctoral position at the University of Tasmania School of Mathematics and Physics, under the guidance of Professor Larry Forbes, designing magnets for magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) machines. In 2004, he took up a lecturing position in Applied Mathematics in the School.
