Nga has worked as researcher at Department of Disease Control and Prevention of Pasteur Institute Ho Chi Minh City in Vietnam. She has expertise and experience in conducting studies related to epidemiology and risk factors of non-communicable diseases (NCDs), establishing NCD surveillance system for the 20 southern provinces of Vietnam. As a lecturer at Pham Ngoc Thach Medical University, she taught medical students in topics public health, the national health program, health management, and health economics.  Recently, she worked on NCDs project as her thesis for PhD degree. The significance of her research in NCDs project has been published with some journals: Journal of the American Society of Hypertension, PloS One, High Blood Pressure and Cardiovascular Prevention.

Biography

Nga graduated Bachelor of Public Health of University of Medicine and Pharmacy at Ho Chi Minh city in 2004. Having more than five years worked in controlling and preventing the spread of HIV/AIDS at Department of Counselling and Community Support. After obtaining Master of Public Health at Flinders University in 2012, she worked for the Department of Disease Control and Prevention of Pasteur Institute in her country as a researcher and an expert in controlling and preventing non-communicable diseases for 20 southern provinces of Vietnam. From 8/2014, She was a lecturer at Department of Health Management and Economics, Pham Ngoc Thach Medical University. From 5/2015, she started doing PhD at Menzies Institute for Medical Research, University of Tasmania. Her project focused on biological risk factors for non-communicable diseases in Vietnam. She finished her PhD at Menzies in August 2020 and joined the Centre for Rural Heath in November 2020 as a research assistant. At the present, she has joined student rural student origin project as researcher and worked as project coordinator for Aus4Innovation project.
